Dear parents:

Welcome! At the height of the summer, it’s perhaps hard to imagine coming or returning to our Sunday mornings together in September. This time of warmth and green is such a gift. My garden speaks to me daily, and I to it, though my neighbors may find it strange!

We will be continuing our attention to the theme of Peace this fall, combining our own curiosities with the denomination’s work on the concept of Peacemaking. The many facets of the conversation are apparent in the poem of Lao Tzu:

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.

If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.

If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.

If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.

If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

I hope you will think about joining a teaching team to engage with your children directly (or with someone else’s children!). Please remember that we ask parents to teach one semester every two years so that our cooperative program remains vital and strong.

We ask that you print and return the downloadable registration form so that we can begin to get our class rosters completed, including with it the signed Code of Ethics form as well. You are welcome to include a check with the form, or pay in the fall if you prefer.

With peace in mind, we look forward to seeing you all in September if not before,
