The 2008 Nominating Committee is looking for FUSN members for the leadership roles listed below. If you are interested in serving in one of these positions, or know someone who you feel would be a good candidate, please send the names to any member of the Nominating Committee listed below.
Deadline: April 30, 2008

Trustees (3) Term: 3 Years
The Board of Trustees has charge of the Society’s property, conducts its business, and controls its administration. Trustees create policy, perform long range financial planning, and help develop the budget. Trustees are members of FUSN who possess strong leadership skills. They attend monthly meetings and serve on the Committee on Committees for 2 years after their term. Membership is an honor, a responsibility, a learning experience, and enjoyable!

Trustee of High School Age Term: 1 Year
This person has the same responsibilities as a Trustee.

Assistant Treasurer (2) Term: 1 Year
These people perform critical backup role in the Treasurer’s absence.

Moderator Term: 1 Year
The Moderator presides at the Annual Meeting (and any special meetings of the Society) and appoints the Nominating Committee. He or she requires a good understanding of the workings of the Society and Robert’s Rules of Order, as well as patience and the ability to remain calm and neutral.

Clerk Term: 1 Year
The Clerk attends all meetings of the Society and the Board of Trustees, “keeping a true record of the workings of the business there transacted.”

Assistant Clerk/Clerk of Council Term: 1 Year
This person acts as Clerk in the Clerk’s absence and also takes minutes at monthly meetings of the FUSN Council.

Treasurer Term: 1 Year
The Treasurer writes the checks, keeps accurate account of all property, receipts, expenditures, and indebtedness of the Society. A monthly report is presented to the Board of Trustees and an annual report at the Annual Meeting. The Treasurer is a full voting member of the Board of Trustees.

Delegates (3) to the UU Urban Ministry, Term: 1 Year
A delegate to the UU Urban Ministry, which is the denomination’s urban organization-providing programs including: Stand High Stand United, Renewal House and Roxbury Youth programs.

Board of Investment Term: 3 Years
The Board of Investment holds, invests, and reinvests funds transferred to it by the Board of Trustees. It guards our endowment and is accountable to the Society for its actions. A report is prepared for each Annual Meeting

Delegates to the Mass Bay District (3) Term: 1 Year
The Mass Bay District meets several times a year to consider denominational affairs and develop relationships among local UU societies. Delegates keep FUSN informed of developments and distribute District Link Newsletter to the FUSN community.

Delegates to the General Assembly (9) Term: 1 Year
At the 2008 General Assembly in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, ministers and representatives from congregations across the country and abroad gather to conduct the general business of the denomination by deliberating and ratifying resolutions. Delegates must provide most of their own funding to attend.

Delegate to the UU Service Committee, Term: 1 Year
The UUSC, the denominational equivalent of our Social Action Committee, has projects designed to improve social conditions.
