Ministerial Search To Be Completed By Spring


Monthly Goals

March 2009

  • Search Committee appointed

April

  • Meet with district Ministerial Settlement Representative

May

  • Search Committee Retreat

Summer

  • Hold dinners for FUSN members to describe search process and obtain qualitative information
  • Complete Congregational Record
  • Begin compilation of informational packet for exchange with interested ministers

September

  • Hold two after church information sessions to describe search process and obtain qualitative information
  • Conduct quantitative congregational survey on-line
  • Set up neutral pulpit arrangements with nearby congregations

October

  • File required information with UUA Transitions Office by 10/ 31

November

  • Meet with district Ministerial Settlement Representative again

November/December

  • Receive expressions of interest from ministers
  • Request access to Ministerial Records of ministers in whom FUSN is interested
  • Exchange and review information packets with ministers where there is mutual interest

January 2010

  • Continue to review packets of interested ministers
  • Conduct phone interviews with some interested ministers

January/February

  • Spend weekend with three-four pre-candidates and hear them preach at neutral pulpits

March 15

  • Decide on proposed candidate and make offer (we cannot make this offer
  • before March 15), per UUA Transitional Office protocols

Conclusion

And, hopefully, the committee will make a recommendation to the FUSN community in late March or early April 2010.
