FUSN Criminal Justice Task Force


Mission: Help those who are incarcerated re-vision their lives in a positive direction. Educate ourselves about life behind bars. Become advocates for a humane criminal justice system. Contact person: Nancy Wrenn.

Groups in Task Force:

Partakers ( College Behind Bars program: four FUSN teams have mentored four inmates as they studied for their college degrees while in prison. Elizabeth Godrick

“The New Jim Crow” study/action group discusses and takes action on the impact of racism on criminal justice in Massachusetts. Nancy Wrenn

Prison Art Program is a weekly art class at the Northeastern Correctional Center in Concord. Lynn Holbein

Federal Prison in Devens -  Monthly visits to inmates at the only federal prison in Massachusetts. Fiora Houghteling 

Alternatives to Violence Program ( A structured weekend course to help inmates learn to forgive themselves and resolve issues non-violently. Jim Emerson

Holiday Prison Gift Project  - Collection to provide Christmas gifts to  1,700 inmates in Concord. Mary Lou McArdle

Buddhist Project at Concord Prison -  A monthly meditation group in prison. Sarah Conn
